I have dedicated my life to fighting for human rights and justice in society. Prior to passing the bar in Hawaii, I was a philosophy professor who specialized in questions of human rights and the rule of law. Today, I draw on that passion every time I represent a client dealing with the effects of childhood sexual abuse or medical malpractice.

At the Law Office of Brian K. Mackintosh, Ltd., my mission is to hold accountable the individuals and institutions that committed and covered up the sexual abuse of children in Hawaii during the 1960s, '70s and '80s. The abuse my clients suffered as children has caused them profound psychological trauma and emotional pain — the decades they spent being denied the truth about what they went through and the chance to get their day in court. As their trial lawyer, I work to ensure that they receive the financial compensation they deserve, as well as the sense of closure that a guilty verdict or settlement can provide.

Advocate In And Out Of The Courthouse

Outside of my legal practice, I am an advocate for the right of victims to take legal action years or decades after they were abused. I regularly work with members of the Hawaii Legislature to amend the statute of limitations of sexual abuse litigation. Lawmakers previously did away with the statute of limitations, which sets a time limit on your right to sue, with respect to litigation related to sexual abuse. However, that limitation has been restored. I am dedicated to returning legal rights to the thousands of sexual abuse victims whose voices have not yet been heard.

Confidential Legal Consultations

I understand how difficult it can be to discuss matters of sexual abuse and medical malpractice. I offer free, confidential legal consultations. To schedule an appointment, please contact my Honolulu office at 808-517-1388. My law firm represents clients throughout Hawaii and those who have been injured in the Hawaiian Islands.
